is a French company created in 1995 by designer Franck Lefebvre. Based near Lille in the North of France. Their international success is due to their contemporary design made with the raw authenticity of driftwood which is their primary material.
Several times a year the Bleu Nature goes to the beach to pick up drift wood, those pieces are unique and don't need any treatment.
Bleu Nature is a path resolutely anchored in values based on respect- respect of the raw material, inspired by nature itself. The look is simple, clean, modern and in touch with nature, we just love the style.

The Vegetal chair designed by brothers .
Branch-like ribs are asymmetrically interwined on 3 levels to form the seat shell of vegetal.
It took them 4 years to design. Influenced by the structure of plants, it is made of batched dyed polyamide, supported by 4 legs, this chair exists in 6 colors and can be used inside or outside.
The vegetal chair is designed by brothers Boullourec for Vitra. This is the new trend for spring 2009

In 1958, Arne Jacobsen designed the Egg for the lobby and reception areas of the Royal Hotel in Copenhagen. This organically shaped chair has since become synonymous with Danish furniture design throughout the world. Because of the unique shape, the Egg guarantees a bit of privacy in otherwise public spaces, and the Egg – with or without ottoman – is ideal for lounge and waiting areas as well as the home.

The Egg originated in Arne Jacobsen's garage - cast in plaster. Today the synthetic shell is padded with cold foam and covered with fabric or different types of leather resting on a star-shaped aluminium base.

Arne Jacobsen was very productive both as an architect and as a designer. His cooperation with Fritz Hansen dates back to 1934. The Ant and Series 7 chairs, produced in 1952, propelled both Jacobsen and Fritz Hansen's names into furniture history. At the end of the 50's Arne Jacobsen designed the Royal Hotel in Copenhagen, which introduced the Egg, the Swan, the Swan sofa and Series 3300 to the design world. Arne Jacobsen was and is an admired and outstanding designer. His furniture and other design work have become a national and international heritage.

The shell of the Egg is of polyurethane foam with fiberglass reinforcement. The shell has an adjustable tilt which can be adjusted to the weight of the individual user. The base consists of a satin-polished, welded steel tube and a 4-star base in injection molded aluminium. The Egg may be upholstered with fabric or leather and is also available with an automatic return mechanism.

JEAN PROUVE: THREE NOMADIC STRUCTURES

“Never design anything that cannot be made,” was the principle guideline of Jean Prouve (1901-1984), the French designer whose work is having its first U.S. museum exhibition at the Los Angeles Museum of Contemporary Art from August 14-November 27. Prouve was originally a metalworker who went on to be a pioneer in prefab housing beginning in the 1950s. The MOCA exhibit will highlight three of Prouve's prefab buildings through the photography of Lucien Herve: the Glassmaking School in Croismare and the Aluminum Centenary Pavilion, both in France; and the Tropical House, originally in Africa.

The Tropical House (pictured above), which was first constructed in Brazzaville, Congo, in 1951, and restored in France in 1999, will be installed from October 4-November 27 in the courtyard of the Hammer Museum at UCLA. The house was built with lightweight steel and aluminum, in accord with Prouv??s commitment to utilizing advanced technology to create simple, light designs that could be mass-produced and shipped to French colonies in Africa, where they could be easily assembled.

In addition to the Nomadic Structures, the MOCA exhibit will include furniture and elements of Prouve’s modular architectural works. Though lesser known than other architects and designers of the 20th century, Prouve’s forward-thinking work is highly relevant to today’s booming field of design, in which the greatest task of technology is to create something simple, accessible and flexible.
