Feng Shui Guidelines
Surround yourself with what you love, this is the most powerful action you can take. When you have to live with things you don’t love, it drains your vitality.
The goal in Feng Shui is to bring belongings that nourish, inspire you, to your home and remove the unloved items until you reach your goal. Consider safety and comfort as a priority when designing, furnishing your home. Give your home a safety and comfort test. Avoid sharp corners on your furniture that could injure body part, prefer rounded shape furniture like a round table. Consider the power position: the placement of furniture, like beds, seating, sofa, desk is important, always facing the door, your nervous system relaxes more deeply when you have visual command of a room. Sitting with a view of the door is the safest, most comfortable, and most powerful place in the room.
Simplify and organize your possessions, clear them out, give away a bag of clothes you don’t wear anymore. Clutter grows in garages, closets, basement, behind the closed doors. Feng Shui invites you to take a look and clean up the chaotic part of your home. As you do that, transformation will occur. Bring your creativity and imagination back to life.
When you want to clear out ask yourself: Do I love it? Do I need it? Does it support who I am now in my life? What positive or negative thoughts, memories do I associate with it? Does it need to be fixed and am able to do so? If it’s time to let it go, am I going to sell, or give it away, how and when?
